YOU MAY BE WONDERING WHO WE ARE....This is our story so far.....
Originally founded 6 years ago, RUFF ‘n’ TUMBLE started out in a van, traveling up and down the Costa to schools and nurseries, bringing structured physical gym and play classes to children of all ages. Then, in 2003, it found a new home in Sotogrande with a quite remarkable lady who had arrived in the area with a toddler and a baby on the way. She soon realised that she had joined the increasing number of women in the area who had followed their husbands to a new place and found themselves caught up in a completely isolating and daunting experience. Desperately looking for a nursery group that her young child could attend and that would act as a base from which to meet new people, build friendships and seek advice – she found nothing. So, deciding to do something about it, she bought the company RUFF ‘n’ TUMBLE. In her hands, RUFF ‘n’ TUMBLE was to become a valuable service for many other young families arriving in the area, just as she had done, and it soon became the central point of a growing network of support and advice. The website was developed and children were enrolled into classes before they arrived in the area. The classes continued to grow and developed into a positive and successful pre-school experience for many young children. She nurtured it for the next 4 years, until it was time for her to follow her husband, once again, to another new place.....She left a legacy behind her, in the hands of Sam Tattersall, another mother with a young child, who had arrived in Spain some 6 years previously. Sam is a UK Qualified and Spanish Registered Nurse and Midwife, and has been working for the last 5 years as a School Nurse in the area. She has been using her vast professional experience of caring for young children and knowledge of child development to develop the original classes. They have grown in popularity and are now attended by many more young families in the area, from Estepona to Alcaidesa.
